Annual Independence Day Parade
Irvington celebrates the 4th of July each year with its traditional “Hometown Parade”. One can describe this event as both a scene from Norman Rockwell and sophistication not often seen in such a small town in America. The parade route winds down scenic King Carter Drive with happy onlookers lining the street. Average parades have over 100 parade participants, which includes, The Kilmarnock & District Pipe Band, children on decorated bicycles, a host of antique cars, Shriners’ Cars, ROTC, as well as festive decorated golf carts. Often following the parade, the antique cars assemble on the Town Commons for a closer look at models dating back 100+ years! The 2024 parade will be held July 4th and the start time is 11 a.m.
2024 Registration is now open. Please send any questions to: Irvington4th@gmail.com
